Integrated Care Board

Our practice is part of a local Integrated Care Board who plan and manage most local health care services.

Following a change to the Health and Social Care Act in 2013, primary care trusts (PCTs) were abolished and the new clinical commissioning groups (CCGs), led by GPs, took over the responsibility for planning and managing health care for their local population.

In 2022 the Health and Care Act completed a parliamentary process in establishing ICS’s, moving them onto a statutory footing with the establishment of Integrated Care Boards (ICB’s) and Integrated Care Partnerships (ICP’s)

ICB’s aim to improve the way the local NHS engages and communicates with our patients, public, clinicians, staff, partners and other stakeholders.
