Coronavirus (Covid-19) guidance
If you suspect you may have Coronavirus or have come into contact with someone who may have please DO NOT come to the surgery or visit a pharmacy or go to hospital. Please use the online NHS 111 service at 111.nhs.uk/service/covid-19.
Further advice will be given by completing the online assessment tool.

If you are sick with fever (high temperature), coughing, shortness of breath or have a loss of taste or smell these symptoms do not necessarily mean you have the illness but you should:
- Self-isolate for 7 days (i.e stay at home and do not go out).
- Go to: 111.nhs.uk/service/covid-19 for 111 advice.
- Avoid contact with other people until advice has been given to you by 111.
- If you cough or sneeze, use a tissue and dispose of it carefully. If you do not have one then use a sleeve or crook of your elbow.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean.
- Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water and/or hand sanitizer.
Changes to Open Surgery and appointments
As of Monday 16th March we have suspended Open Surgery until further notice, to assist the measures in place to contain the spread of Covid-19 Coronavirus.
Please telephone the surgery on 0116 259 6206 if you need to see a GP. The phone lines will open at 8:00am each morning, Monday to Friday. A receptionist will ask you for brief details on your condition and a GP or Healthcare Professional will phone you back and either give you advice over the phone or make you an appointment at Billesdon Surgery.
Prescriptions can still be collected from the dispensary but please observe the new measures we have taken.
- All collections should be made from the backdoor by going through the rear car park, signs will point the way.
- Ring the bell on the small table for assistance and a dispenser will respond.
- Please allow us time to answer as we are very busy.
- Please maintain a 2 metre distance from other patients were possible while waiting.
- Do not cross the barrier and do not enter the surgery.

NHS letters to clinically vulnerable patients considered high-risk
NHS have written to those people considered to be at highest clinical risk from coronavirus (COVID-19) to inform them that they should stay at home at all times and avoid all face-to-face contact for a period of at least 12 weeks.

Please note that those letters have not been sent by Billesdon Surgery.
Patients who have self referred to the government shielding support have been reviewed by our GPs. Patients who have been assessed as not a high risk will be sent a letter to say they are moderate or low risk.
